CFL Recycling:
A Bright Idea!
Compact Fluorescent Lights contain small amounts of mercury, a poisonous gas. Though breaking one bulb in your home won't harm you, hundreds of thousands are deposited in our local landfill every year. The mercury in these bulks escapes and pollutes our water and air. Help keep mercury out of our environment. It's easy; just bring your burned out bulbs to our collection site and deposit them in the receptacle. We'll take if from there. Together, we can flip the switch on controllable mercury pollution. CFL Recycling: It's a bright idea!
Thank you also to the Berkeley County Solid Waste Authority, without whose gracious sponsorship for the recycling of the bulbs collected, this program would never have been possible. Thanks also to Quad/Graphics and Berkeley Community Pride for allowing us to place our receptacle where it is convenient to you. It is our top priority to meet the needs of the consumer. If you have any questions or comments in the regard of this program or CFLs in general, feel free to contact us at cflrprogram@gmail.com. Shine on!
